The project focused on adapting EuroLeague’s latest website updates for their app, ensuring brand alignment and meeting user expectations. The aim was to improve user engagement across the three different competitions while incorporating new features like team and player profiles.
To understand user behaviour, we analysed demographic and app usage data, supplemented by market research into how similar organisations structure content. Although EuroLeague’s design system was predefined in previous stages of the project, we enhanced it with new components.

Define
A key challenge identified was ensuring that users could seamlessly engage with all three competitions (EuroLeague, EuroCup and Next Generations). To address this, we wanted to implement a competition selector on the homepage, expanding the range of content, including detailed stats, player lists, and team profiles. We also introduced a personalised experience by allowing users to select their favourite team, which enabled targeted content.
Develop
Collaborating closely with development teams for both iOS and Android, we ensured that the designs were technically feasible. Regular feedback during wireframing helped identify potential roadblocks early on, ensuring a smooth implementation.
We redesigned the Match Cards to display location-based broadcaster logos and improved the player and team profile sections by adding filters, relevant data and stats.

Deliver
The app was transformed into a hub for everything EuroLeague, providing users with fresh, relevant, and personalised content. Key features such as the competition selector, enhanced Match Cards, and personalised content based on user preferences, helped drive longer engagement times and improve user retention.
In addition, we worked with QA team to verify the functionality of the designs across different devices using Xcode and Android Studio emulators, creating a seamless workflow between design and development.

UI Screens
Competition Picker and More Menu
An accordion menu was added to the Home page, allowing users to select between the three competitions (EuroLeague, EuroCup and Next Generation) without leaving the page. Previously, users had to go to the More Menu to select the competition, which could cause disengagement.
The More Menu was also updated to reflect new features added to the app, such as Stats, Player and Team indexes.

Match Card and Match Centre
Match card update to show broadcast logos. These logos are geolocated, users see the broadcaster relevant to their country, region or state.
The same feature was added to the Match Centre along with the Boxscore. The Boxscore displays the points for each team by quarter, as well as an aggregate score for each quarter, which is a common statistic for basketball fans.

Favourite Team / Team Profile
Updated the My Team page with new features, including a Favourite Team update CTA, tickets purchase button, featured game, team stats, team information, player roster, and games for the entire season.
Player Profile
New Player Profile has been added, accessible from both the Team page and the Player index. This page contains relevant information about the player, including stats, records, related articles, and videos.
Player Index
Player index feature allows users to check any players currently participating in the tournament. Players can be filtered by position and team. Users can access the player profile by tapping on any of the player cards.
Team Index
Team index allows users to search for teams and check their profiles, which include games, player rosters, and stats.
